Over the past five years, Alexis has been both a lecturer and a class teacher in economics and econometrics at two of the leading universities in the UK: the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford. He used to work as a stipendary lecturer in economics at St Edmund Hall (University of Oxford) and as a teaching associate for the economics department at the London School of Economics.
For the past couple of years, he has also been teaching a graduate course in econometrics at the history department of the University of Oxford. He completed his PhD in economics at the University of Oxford in 2018, in which he examined the links between social comparisons and ethical behaviour. His main research interests are behavioural economics, econometrics, and development economics.
As a tutor at LSE, he received several bonuses for outstanding teaching, and he received overwhelmingly positive feedback on his lectures in econometrics for the MSc in Economic and Social History at the University of Oxford.

I surprised myself by absolutely loving this course. The professor is SUPERB. He was extremely well prepared for each class, with a crystal clear train of thought allowing him to explain the concepts, but also extremely flexible to adapt to our constant questions. He included everyone and made sure we all understood. Additionally, having problem sets throughout the semester was really helpful, because we got almost real-time feedback on our learning, which was reinforced by doing the problem sets. I can’t say enough good things about this class and its instructor. Outstanding!
Dr. Grigorieff goes through the tough concepts and makes it much easier to understand. I only understand what was taught in the lecture after attending the classes.
The professor explained the complex notions in a very understandable way, and he was always ready to elaborate on topics as well as answer every question. I enjoyed his way of teaching as it was exciting and relevant to real-life examples.
Excellent statistics course. As someone who chose to study politics to escape mathematics, I dreaded this course but the teacher made this an excellent experience. Professor Grigorieff explained all the concepts of STATA in a very clear and concise way, and was incredibly patient with the students.

Alexis was great at accommodating for the varying levels of knowledge in the class. We were able to ask questions and never felt like our answers were dumb which gave us the confidence to keep asking questions. He was very approachable and helpful with answering our questions and creating a positive atmosphere.
