Legal / Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 19/09/2025

These terms set out how Axiom Tutoring (“we”, “us”) provides tuition services to students and parents (“you”). By booking tuition with us, you agree to the following:

1. Services

We provide private tutoring in a range of academic subjects, delivered online or in person. Lesson details (tutor, subject, time, duration) are agreed with each student. Tutors act as mentors and supervisors to support your learning but will not participate in timed exams or assignments. All submitted coursework must be your own.

2. Fees & Payment

  • Tuition fees vary by tutor and are confirmed in writing before lessons begin.

  • Payment is collected primarily via direct debit (recommended for UK bank accounts).

  • You may also pay by bank transfer or via the secure payment links provided.

  • Late payments: a £15 late fee applies if payment is received after the due date. Payments 7 or more days overdue will also incur interest at a 1% monthly rate, compounded monthly on the outstanding balance.

  • To avoid late fees, we recommend using direct debit, which is free, secure, and cancellable at any time.

3. Cancellation Policy

We operate a mutual cancellation policy:

  • If your tutor cancels a session with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be entitled to the same amount of tuition time free of charge.

  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the session will be charged in full.

  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice will not be charged.

4. Hourly Rates

  • Each tutor’s hourly rate is confirmed in advance in writing.

  • Rates may vary by tutor and subject.

  • Once agreed, your rate is guaranteed for the academic year.

  • Rates may be reviewed at the start of each new academic year; you will be informed in advance of any changes.

  • VAT applies unless lessons are delivered outside the UK.

5. Academic Integrity

Tutors will help you prepare for exams and assignments, but:

  • Tutors may not provide assistance during timed exams or assessments.

  • Tutors may review coursework questions for learning purposes, but all submitted work must be your own.

  • You remain responsible for your academic performance.

6. Confidentiality & Data

We respect your privacy and treat all personal and academic information as confidential. Please see our Confidentiality Policy for details.

7. Limitation of Liability

We will provide tuition with reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee particular academic results. We are not liable for delays or issues outside our control (e.g. internet failures, exam board changes).

8. Safeguarding

Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervising children during lessons.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
